Slaughtered gorillas lie tied to stretchers in the first pictures released of the killings.

The rare animals, which lived in a national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, may have been killed to warn off conservationists who want to save the region's rainforests – the gorillas' natural habitat.

Experts say poachers would have sold the bodies. Close Quotes

It was accompanied by the following tragic picture.

Murdered Gorillas

In the view of FirstMistake, this is murder.  These gentle cretures are our next nearest cousins in the eveloutionary tree.  What are we doing?

FirstMistke despairs of mankind, hence our name. Only mankind could do something so cruel to these peacful creatures.  We don't deserve to survive a a species.

And this in a week where China, and the world, have lost the only fresh water dolphin.

First Mistake believe there should be a war on poachers who would do this kind of thing for monetary gain.  Do we need those genes in the genepool? We don't believe so.

There are too many people, and not enough fighting for the animals and their environment.

Here in the so-called civilised western world, we should take note.  People here are daily raping and destroying our environment and squandering our natural capital for monetary gain.  You just don't see it protrayed so callously as in this picture.

Unless you see pictures of the Golden Eagles and other birds killed by Windfarms that is.

It is up to us to stop them here too.

Mankind is utterly mad.  It is time we valued ourselves less and our fellow creatures more. They have a right to live too.
