Wind Farms
Many people are against covering the most beautiful and remote parts of Britain with these "installations". Here are a few. Join our debate in the "wind farms" forum.
Hard Evidence of Wind Power Feeding Frenzy
Courtsey of the Western Telegraph 12 July 2007
"TURBINE NO POWER TOOL IN STRUGGLE
DEAR EDITOR -
The building of three wind turbines has been permitted near Milford Haven as
reported in the Western Telegraph, July 4.
The existing Castle
Pill turbine appears on Ofgem's Register of Renewable Obligation Certificates
(ROCs). Each ROC represents a subsidy to
the owner which is added to the
value of the electricity.
In 2006 Castle Pill earned 1,020 ROCs, worth
about £33,000. With other benefits this is nearly a historically unprecedented
100% subsidy.
I would accept a huge subsidy to nurture a useful
technology, but during 2006 this machine generated just 1020 megawatt hours.
It would take half a million such machines to equal British peak demand
and because wind is so variable, we would still need to keep fossil-fuelled
generators available.
This is hardly a worthwhile cut in
climate-changing CO2 as the UK is only responsible for two percent of global CO2
emission!
Dr JOHN ETHERINGTON, Llanhowell, Pembrokeshire."
First Mistake's take.
Well done Dr Etherington - it is difficult to argue with cold hard figures and your letter points out just how bad the feeding frensy is. We call "Bullshit" on windfarms!

Fraud at Lochluichart
Stop Lochluichart campaigners are calling for an urgent investigation into the background and financial stability of wind farm developer Infinergy Ltd. (Infinergy)
Infinergy partner Koop Duurzame Energie (KDE) is part of the Koop Group tainted for its role at the centre of a multimillion pound construction industry price fixing scam.
